Abstract

This research aims to develop packaging for products made from Sisal paper in order to transfer the technology and to follow-up and evaluate outcome of the project. The sample groups used in this research consisted of members of the Hub Kapong Agricultural Cooperative Limited, the Sisal Group, and customers of the Hub Kapong Agricultural Cooperative Limited. The samples were randomized with Purposive Sampling method. The target group for the transfer of technology was 35 members of the Sisal group. Tools used in this research included a Survey for consumers’ satisfaction in packaging prototype,  an Evaluation of the training process, and a Follow-up of the project’s outcome. This project were divided into 6 main steps: analysis for suitable from a packaging, preparation of draft packaging, test and improvement of draft packaging, development of packaging prototype, assessment of packaging prototype, transfer of the technology, and follow-up of technology utilization. Results of the research indicated that the sample groups were highly satisfied with both forms of the bag-type packaging prototype at an average level of 4.07 and 3.93, respectively. Similarly, both forms of the box-type packaging prototype also yielded a high satisfaction at a level of 3.98 and 3.92. Concerning the training process, it was found that trainees in the transfer of technology had high satisfaction in the process at an overall level of 3.97. Considered by aspects, the trainer aspect yielded an average level of 4.11; the material, handout and venue of satisfaction at 4.00. For the follow-up of technology utilization, it was found that receivers of the transferred technology participated in the transfer process at a middle of 3.44. Considered by aspects, the trainees highly participated in the preparation aspect at an average level of 3.50; highly participated in the processing aspect at an average level of 3.67; and participated in the follow-up aspect at an average level of 3.19.
