Abstract

Transferring technology obtained from research results — Organic Agriculture: Soil Improvement with economical methodology, to the agriculturists was set during August 7-8, 2013 at community service building, Donputsra Sub-district Administrative Organization (SAO), Dontoom district, Nakorn Pathom. Ninety-two attendees were joined in this workshop. The workshop was divided into two sections. The first section involved the seminar and the workshop of mixing compost and the second was about adding the compost to the crops. The results from this workshop were derived from the questionnaires distributed to all the attendees.

The results showed that all of the targets were met. The attendees (92 persons) were larger than the target (50 persons). Most of the attendees (97.8%)  liked this project which was greater than the target (80%). The attendees who thought that they could use this knowledge in the future was 91.1% which was greater than the target (80%). The number of families involved in the project was 56 which was greater than the target (50 families). Moreover, using this compost could reduce the cost of fertilizers by 2.9-3.2 times than using chemical fertilizers. Most of the comments from attendees were about requesting more of this workshop leading to a continuous project. As a result, this workshop was shown to make the better knowledge to this community. Not only this project would save the cost of fertilizer but it also gave the opportunity to provide a communication among the agriculturists and the researchers. This also built in good relationships between them where any scientific questions were needed to be answered.
